Heart... Broken.... It looks good in person, I love the interior. Now take in mind the reason why I got the W/T is because I intended on changing the looks dramatically and bought the W/T so I could afford mods.

+ its a sleeper, no one expects the 5.3L and the 6 speed in this thing. They expect the 4.3L V6 or a the 4.8 with the 4 speed.

That's a good looking truck. Welcome to the "will you help me move" crowd. hehe
Smart move getting a basic truck with the v8 and 4x4. You can always add the "get pretty" goodies without voiding your warranty.

I too think it would look sick with color matched grill and front bumper, a debadge and some tint. I would put a muffler on it though, at the very least a 40 series flow. What about a stake pocket mount and a 5' firestik instead of the 102" if you're going to install your cb in it.

Thank you hot rod, thats the comments I'm lookin for haha. I'm partial to the color matched grille/bumper, I like black grilles. I might color match the bumper and leave the grille black, I know for a fact I'm gonna be doing the bowties in red/black. I have a toolbox in my shed that's made for my truck. I'm gonna paint it black, I'm just gonna get the headache rack on there first because I'm gonna have to figure out a way to have them both cause I'm pretty sure they mount up the same way? I'm most definetely not going to run the 102" whip. It looked cool on the blazer but it'll look dumb on the truck, and I'll probably run something like a firestick on the toolbox. All my modules including my new Cobra 19 will be going into the center console I'm making.

Heres my concept for the center console, the dimensions aren't exact but are close enough. I'm now making one out of cardboard as a prototype. It fits between the manual transfer case in the hump on the floor.

What kind of tool box is it? May I suggest only using one that goes inside the bedrails and doesn't hang from the bedrails as to preserve the paint on your new truck. As for the headache rack...is there any particular reason why you're doing that...it's really going to make it look like a county road crew truck if you put one on. I can literally go take a pic of our county road trucks here and show you exactly what it'll look like ;)

I'm liking the looks of the console, you should keep us updated as you build it, or at least link us to where you'll be posting it.

I'm not trying to discourage you from doing any mods that you want to do. After all, it's your truck and you should build it exactly as you want it.

P.S. I really like the long-travel suspensions available for those years. There is a guy building up an extended cab silvy on gmfs as a pre-runner and it looks really awesome.

Not sure really it was on the truck at work for awhile and my dad sold the truck and kept the toolbox. Its one that mounts against the window. A normal tool box. The reason why I'm doing a headache rack... So I can mount lights on it, pretty much. And it looks good and protects the large back window. I plan to make this into my tactical vehicle and into my POV vehicle. Just like the tahoe was. Oh hell yeah, I'll keep you posted on whatever happens here!

what's a tactical vehicle necessary for? keep it clean man. color matched, leveled on 33's. will look way better than all redneck'd out. unless theres swarms of zombies around where you live, it seems like cb radios, boxes, and racks are just to make it look like a contractor owns it. just my opinion though. other than that the truck is bad ass!!! 6L80 ftw

Blackcoffee, I think your new truck is really awesome. You should set it up the way you want it. Besides your Tahoe was bad-ass. I bet you'll come up with some good shit for the Silverado. That center console idea is pretty cool too.

Hummmmm anti EOTWAWKI members in my thread... Thats a no no hahaha. Let me tell you, until recently I was a volunteer fire fighter and for 6 years I've worked along side my dad at his business at a concrete and steel supplier. So pretty much you could call me a contractor, anything I put into a vehicle I end up using, I don't just blow money for nothing ha. And, if I have a pick up truck and if you know me, you know I'm just dying to get this thing as tactical para military as possible. Its function over beauty for me, I think a pickup truck should be how you need it, and this being my ONLY pickup it should be loaded with anything I'd ever need and look cool doing it.

Oh and crmzendrgone, heres how my setup was a while ago in the hoe it with the crappy cobra dx iv, I'm putting all the same modules into the new center console except I'll be running a new cobra 19, not the best but definetly an upgrade oh and the scan gauge II is being sold along with the tahoe. I'll be getting a Valentine 1 and a police scanner as well in the new console. Thats a Jotto Desk Btw.

Will sell jotto desk console and mount for $200.00 + shipping. Perfect condition.
