Did the light stay on? What are the circumstances when it comes on? Usually something simple look at all connections and wipe off crud. Do you have a tpms sensor going out?

It's very intermittent, like about every 3 days. That sounds like it would be hard to troubleshoot !

No not hard but you do need a scanner that can read ABS otherwise it's all just a guess, the options are buy one for probably under $100 locally at walmart, autozone, oreilly's etc.
or likely pay to have it scanned, many auto parts stores will scan regular codes for free but probably not for ABS codes.
you could even just buy one and then return it later, no money out of pocket.
normally a ABS code is stored the only catch is if it is the ABS module going out it may not save a code if there is no code stored then you just need to scan it when the abs light is on before you shut off the truck.
