I have a 99 OSB Tahoe that the shift cable broke lose from the column and slammed the tranny into park going about 30-45 mph. What's the chances of no damage to the trans? Wasn't iin 4wd at the time.
Thanks

I found that the column shift broke & released the cable which allowed iit to go to park. Will definitely have to change out Steering column, but hoping everything else iis good.

My shift cable socket that pops on and off the shift arm on the side of the trans kept popping off so I had a new one installed. Of course mine broke and popped off at the boat ramp with the gd hoe stuck in reverse with the boat on the trailer. Had to buy a new cable and had the local service station install it. Cable was $80 and install was $138. Glad you're ok!!! Could take it a trans guy and have him drop the pan and change the fluid and filter and check to see if there is any damage.
