Looks like the VVT disablement is a bit more complicated; the CamShaft Actuator DT code must ALSO be disabled.
There may be other less obvious steps.

...whatd you do with the actuator?
nothing?
limiting block installed?
delete and install 3 bolt gear?

just read the post before... if you deleted dod its going to need at the very minimum dod turned off and DTCs turned off
it may not need a tune to run ok with the cam specs, but the ecm is still going to try and go into dod mode
VVT deleted. 3 bolt gear in.
DOD is off.
Engine tuned for cam.
Trans tuned....all slip out (did not talk to tuner)...mechanic took it to him. Tuner is hard to get ahold of....hiding or something....but is supposed to be good. But maybe not so good ? I didn't know a tuner around here. He is the only game in town, evidently.

No. The super duper tuner in town was supposed to handle all this. So say, he is the one who tunes all the Vettes and Camaros in town. Wonder why he couldn't do this right ?

so 3 bolt cam/gear, did you use the correct timing cover also?
i dont think sensor on the vvt actuator cover will pick up the reluctor of a 3bolt cam gear

Yup....correct timing cover. I talked to the tuner today. He sez the hard fault I see with my scanner is nothing to worry about...in fact , it may go away on it's own soon....There is no MIL on the dash. He did a number of thing with the tune...to engine and trans. I am ok with his summary of what was done. Seems to know his stuff. Sure had a bunch of fancy rides in his shop that they were working on.
