Looking for opinions. My wife has a 2017 Yukon on factory 18" wheels. She is short and pregnant and wants me to lower the yukon so it will be easier for her to get the baby seat in and out. I cant decide between the 2/3.5-4.5 or the 2-4/5-6 kit. We are sticking with the stock wheels until the tires need replaced and then will likely go with factory size 22's. It currently also rubs slightly with the stock 18's on the passenger side at full lock, im assuming on the fender liner. Will either one of these kits drastically increase the amount of rubbing? Will both kits work with the stock 18's? Does the ride get drastically stiffer/harsher with the larger drop?

Hi Derrick. Rubbing with 18s? Maybe something is loose. Have you had a chance to take a good look / check to see? Are the tires wider than normal? My 2015 Escalade is lowered on 26s. Excellent ride, no rubbing issues except for a bit at full lock. I did picked up the kit from NorCal. I believe it was a 1.5 / 4 drop or so. I would have loved to go lower but I did not want to sacrifice the ride.

Here's a few pics of the Escalade on stock 22s while I waited on the 26" Intros to get made. Good luck.

Edit. And a more recent shot. What a difference. LOL

I havent bothered to look to be perfectly honest because it only rubs at full lock and its just barely. We bought it new and it still has stock tires on it.

The wheels made all the difference on your truck. I keep trying to get my wife to agree to 24 or 26" but she doesnt want to give up too much cushion from the tire.

Understand. A good option might be 24s then. you could ride a 35 series tire. Perhaps even a 40 series but to me a 40 series is not a good combo.

I ran 35 series tires on a 2005 Escalade with a slightly larger drop without issues. I actually drove that Escalade to and from Louisiana a few times before I picked up the 2015 and sold the 2005. The 2015 is in Florida with the rest of the rides. I have an 02 Silverado here.

22s are obviously not a bad bet either.

Yeah, a 40 series wouldn’t be bad but she is dead set on the factory size 22” tire with a drop. So now it’s just a matter of which drop to put on it!

My moms 2016 LTZ autoride with a 2/4 drop. Sitting on 24” Texas editions with a 295/35/24 tire. I believe it sits a tad bit below 34” in the front and around 34.25” in the rear (don’t quote me on that).
