Wow that's a sick tahoe, thanks for the find destroyer. That's exactly what I want except not painted/covered. Would look so much better too if mine was a damn 2 door! I hate having a 4 door. :(

Nice, looks good. I think it would look better if the pipes were exposed like the SD above.
I know Stainless Works used to sell Cobra side pipe kits, though I cant findem now.

Its definately something to consider. Just curious about were you'd put your cats.

Actually it looks like im not going to do it. Talked my mechanic about it and he said there's no room between the headers and rerouting down the side to fit a muffler so it's just open headers. He said he would do it for me, it just would be REALLY loud. He told me to try and find muffled pipes or something because that would help but I don't wanna do that.

So now im just dumping them underneath instead. :(

I dont know what your mechanic is talking about, there's tons of room. I just came back in from crawling under mine, not only is there enough room, I'm also able to relocate my cats to and use the mid/y-pipe as a crossover pipe. You just have to be a little creative.
You dont want muffled pipes? Thats what a side pipe is. Unless you dont put a muffler in it, which you can do that to.

Here's a few pages of different brands and styles of side pipes and some install kits to.

Yeah I knew there had to be enough room, he must just not remember what the underneath of my truck looks like. I'll have to talk to him about it again.

By looking at that first page on Summit it looks pretty expensive to have muffled side pipes, which is half of the reason why I didn't want those. My mechanic can get regular steel pipe for a good price and have it measured out and everything to my truck's length.

IIRC, 2 doors have the rear tank while 4 doors have the gas tank running along side the driver side from about the back door to the rear fender. Perhaps that is what your mechanic is referring to in terms of space.
