So im seriously thinking about rerouting my exhaust down the side, old hot rod style, like this:

Also if I go through with it I think im gonna switch to Borla XS mufflers, and 3" SS pipe. What do you guys think about this? My tahoe doesn't look like a race truck at all so im a little worried it will look kind of stupid.

I have thought about this before but didnt get any good responses.
I think it would look sick on one of our trucks. Does anyone know of any companies that make a kit? It could be built pretty easily, cost of material might be a bit high.

That SD is sick, right click and saved, lol.

Maybe someone can photoshop it.

Doesn't Matter
I don't think I would like it. But that's just my opinion, I also don't like the look of nerf bars or steps. At least not on a lifted rig. If you're keeping it stock or lowering her, it would probably look sick as hell.
You would get points for having a set up like no body else(or very few.) At least I've never seen. My exhaust dumps under the truck just before the rear axle. You can't see it and it projects sound real cool too.
Your best bet would be a local shop that can fab a set up for you. Or a buddy with a pipe bender who can weld.

P.S.
That Super Duty is nasty. A new HD set up like that would look too sexy.

i wonder if any of the kits for the Vipers or Corvettes would fit?

The Corvettes in the 90's used a 350 block (so did OBS hoe/burbs), so i wonder if a header to side pipe kit would work??

If this is a really dumb idea, please excuse me. If it's a great idea, i take credit for it :Good or Bad:

First I do not know if viper or vette would work, dunno much about em, but on the main topic of putting the side exhaust on, frankly I think it would look awesome.

In all honesty, i've designed up a few rigs on a drafting program, for my kon, and think it would look amazing, and since I have no emmisions to worry about, I was simply going to bring the pipes to the side, and use glasspacks rather than an actual muffler. I didn't take into the idea of header to side pipe kits, rather I have a friend with a shop and we were going to just weld the pipes right to the headers, when bent into the shape so that I could rig em up. Just my 'redneck' way of doing it lol.

Yeah my guy that did my exhaust could easily do this. Just weld up pipes on the headers, do a 90 bend, then another 90, and it's good. Just have to measure everything out and shit. I think im gonna go through with it.

that is much cheaper, faster, and smarter...no doubt about it.

When you complete, definitely post some pictures. I bet if you polish the pipe that is visible and diagonal cut the tip, it would look bad ass
