Side rail on roof has come loose

I believe that looks to be the correct part.

That does seem high from the dealer; But they quoted you that price because it will require you to drop the headliner, which will also require you to remove the interior pillar trim to access the mounting hardware for the roof rails.

I'm having the same issue on the driver side of my 2018 Tahoe. Did anyone find a solution that won't cost $1,000?

Double adhesive 3M tape will hold it down. I had a similar issue with water intrusion at the back part of the rail. Dropped the aft portion of the headliner and tightened the bolt(s). Used high temp sealant around each bolt hole to seal them up.

I will try to use that double adhesive and deal with the leak when I cross that bridge. Thanks for the idea. Do you have any pics of your solution?

No I didn't take any pictures of it. The front plastic trim piece on the roof rail is supposed to engage the fastener stud that sticks out. But if you get a good crosswind while doing 60+mph it can lift it up. I just found a good area where it engages and applied the 3M tape.
