If you had Engine Half@$$ (AFM), you'd be able to select a display that would show when your engine was Half@$$ing, or not. (Easy enough for GM.)Sucks that there is no dashboard signal showing when it switches down to 4 cylinders.
If you have Engine Confusion (DFM), you've a V8mode, V7 modes, V6 modes, V5 modes, V4 modes, 3cylinder modes, and 2 cylinder modes ...
for a total of seventeen possible firing 'orders'. I think GM did not want customers to be able to say
"I can feel something odd, but only when it's in a 3cylinder mode, to the point that I'm getting better at avoiding 3cylinder modes".
