Others say it doesn't change the sound on the highway or drone but all I can tell you is it made my 2011 Tahoe drone (resonate) at highway RPM's. It wasn't real loud and no one else complained about it but it did bug me. I guess GM went to the expense of putting resonators on these vehicles for a reason.

I took it off and put on a Corsa Touring catback and I'm much happier.

I haven't put my tip on yet but if it does drone at least its a good excuse to get a full cat-back! :D

Has anyone else noticed how much carbon soot comes after the resonator is deleted ???

maybe it is just because mine is whitem but i did this mod with 500 miles on the truck, it has always had a lot of black soot build up on the side of the truck.

could it be a bad cat ??

I have a theory.

Taking the resonator off makes the stock muffler louder over time. Slightly.

My theory is that because the resonator is gone.... the gases speed up... and additional pressure is placed on the muffler to perform. Making it a little more hoarse.

do you mean just go through the baffles in the muffler faster? i wonder what a nnbs would sound like with a muffler delete but still a resonator.
