I'd bet anything there's nothing wrong with your truck. If your truck is anything like mine with 3.41 gearing and torque management out the arse is feels like a slug everywhere you go. I felt like getting out and shaking the truck sometimes. All that changed once I got my blackbear tune. woke it up and got rid of that annoying torque management. not sluggish from a start anymore and running 93 octane fuel. I'd also say if your dad has a truck its probably lighter, doesn't have big wheels/tires and not geared the same. this will make a huge difference in how the motor feels in each one. have you driven another Tahoe similar to yours?

No i havent drove any other tahoes besides back in the day when my parents had a 96 tahoe. Are some tahoes geared from factory diferent than other tahoes? And someone prev stated that the knock sensor could have a huge affect on timing, and i do have a faulty sensor..

most of them have the 3.73 gears. the knock sensor could def be your problem... chevy didnt engineer that aspect of the engine very well basically if you pressure wash off your engine at all the water leaks down into the hole where the knock sensor is and corrodes it mostly the rear but i suppose it could happen to the front one as well. my truck felt like it hauled balls when i bought it then the knock sensor went and it got sluggish when the cel came on. as for comparing to your dads truck my dad has a 4.8 sierra and i think its about as fast as my yukon theres just less weight there to move.

I bet you have 3.42's, and bigger tires and rims kill low end. Gears, and Black Bear tune will fix alot of that.
