JL 8W3 Update
I finally finished the factory recommended (ported) box for my JL 8" sub and it freaking rocks. It definitely sounds at least as good as that RF 12" I've been running while taking up way less space.
The only issue I have with the box is the 18" port they want doesn't effin' fit in the box. I built it exactly to the factory recommended size. I think they ran the required port length on their box building programs but didn't check to see if it would actually fit. I am really happy with how it sounds so I guess I'll stick another 90 degree elbow on the 2" pipe in the box and get rid of the 4" sticking out right now.
Anyway- great recommendation on getting that sub and two thumbs up....
