I used Niteshade on my mustang tails ans 3rd brake light. 1000 grit wet sanded them, wiped them down with paint thinner, 4 very light coats, wet sanded with 1500 lightly, clear coated with a semi gloss clear, wet sanded with 2000 and buffed. Looked like a sheet of black glass. Like the covers, but permanent. Paint work is all the same, 99.99% in the prep work.
Wet sand the clear with 1500, and re-apply clear. Wet sand and buff and you will be all good. No need to take it all the way down and start again, it is a waste of time and materials. Unless there is a run in the paint.
Are you using a gloss clearcoat? Seems obvious, just making sure it is not flat or satin clear.
