So i went to have a magnaflow installed....

Ok, long story short. My brother swapped mufflers on his truck and gave me the magnaflow he removed. Its a single 2 3/4 dual 2 3/4 (reversible). Took it and my denali to my local muffler shop, whom ive used over a dozen times in the past with great results, and he preceded to tell me if i installed this muffler on my denali i would be back in a week to have the stock one reinstalled. Supposedly because its a 6.0 it will be so loud you couldnt have a conversation, or talk on your cell, or listen to the radio while driving.

Dont get me wrong, im no newbie to the truck/car world or mods for that matter, and i have no doubt that this thing WILL indeed be louder than my last truck with a 5.3 but is this guy full of shit?

Magnaflow don't generally produce drone so I doubt that's it.

Do you know what model number the muffler is? I know that Magnaflow does make different models with different levels of noise. How loud was the muffler on your brother's truck?

If you dump it by cabin then yes drone will be loud but meh. The drone in my hoe is loud but I like it. Gotta dump it right now its just cut right before the back axle

well i wondered about that too, but if im leaving the stock talipipe/tip exiting out the back that should eliminate most of the drone right? i thought you only got drone when it was dumped and "echoed" off the bottom of the vehicle?

I have flows in the hoe and had magnaflow in the silvi. He silvi was dumped but drone wasnt bad inside

It was pretty mellow on his truck w/ a 5.3 until we installed LT's then it droned pretty bad. BUT it was dumped. Not sure of the model im pretty sure its a "universal" turbo. And ive been watchin for your suburban around town, thing looks sick!

It will not be dumped, will deff retain the factory tail pipe and chrome tip. I dont car if it sounds like a 1000hp built LSX out the back as long as its bearable inside! I took it to GV muffler this morning, guess ill try Royal in Lees Summit and see what they say.
