Noticed that the key slot in the driver door handle was no longer there. I'm guessing somebody tried to break in but had a failed attempt. Now I am not sure if they are still in the process of trying to get in.

Any help? I am planning on going to the dealer tomorrow.

That looks like a definite failed attempt. Not sure if the dealer is the best bet they can be expensive and this is a DIY candidate.

I'll go to the dealer to get a part number and a quote. I found some cylinders on eBay but I don't think they have what I'm looking for.

I had the same thing happen to my tahoe 3 years ago and fortunately they weren't able to get into the vehicle. I ended up adding an aftermarket alarm and putting a passenger door handle without the lock hole on my drivers door so it couldn't be attempted to be broken again.

Fix this crap every day. 9 times out of 10 you can get just a new handle and cylinder and code it yourself using the old tumblers. That one looks like none of the tumblers are messed up, just pop it open, and code the new cylinder exactly like the old one. Easy fix.
