Scored a DIC and trim for $83 on eBay.

My PPV has the RPO for keyless entry (extended range). But is there a separate RPO for remote start?

NOTE: I have RPO AP8 for the remote entry, BUT i have seen that can be the same RPO for the Remote start too?

I thought I read somewhere that you just need the proper key fob and I THINK you have to have the BCM reprogrammed accordingly.

I have RPO AP8 in my glovebox and headed to the dealership to add remote start. Didn’t get exactly what I was thinking... but it was around $250. Basically you get the key fob and a code from GM that they enter into the Tech2 scanner.

I ended up with the two way remote, which is HUGE. The pro side, it does show some cool features such as: mileage, gas level, TPMS, which doors are locked/unlocked. It does have some good range of about 300 ft’ (they said it works as far as 1/2 mile). I can now just buy the normal remotes and add no issue.

I never knew there was a factory 2-way remote.

So dumb question time... when you switched out the steering wheel did you have to buy the harness for the radio controls or was it already there...?

I replaced my factory PPV steering wheel with a new civilian version, which came with the audio controls. There are videos in YouTube and the harness to make the civilian version is all there. Make sure to disconnect the battery when changing the steering wheel.

Once connected it will control your factory stereo and aftermarket stereo (aftermarket needs a Mastro Or PAC steering wheel adapter)

Is it sitting under the airbag or is it taped up down in the steering column?
