You walk and have to find a way to have the truck towed. If the engine does not start, you cannot get the transmission out of park. The park control in the transmission is hydraulic. If you find a knowledgable tow company they can override the park problem, but they also need to disable the parking brake. Some may take the time, others may not want to deal wit the problem.Ok so what happens if this thing fails? No start? Engine dies? First time hearing about this.
If you have a spare module, 5 minutes, no tools and you are back in business.
Some of the 2021 trucks had a recall for this part. I belive the part number has been superceded a few times.
Either way, I would not trust the FCPM to last the life of the vehicle, much less 5-6 years.
But again, if I buy a new snowblower, I would probably not have any or enough snow for 5-7 years to need to use it!!!
Cheap insurance, even if you do not need it, you could help a stranded friend, family member or complete stranger. I have 2 in my truck!
