On my newly acquired 2004 Tahoe, 104K, the speedometer and tach will quit working, or register bogus readings, while driving on the highway. Has never happened in town. After I shut the engine off for awhile, everything works normal. All the other gauges work. Any ideas?

these trucks are known for gauge clusters failing, they will act crazy, give false readings, i was going down a 35mph road and my cluster said i was doing 90mph. replaced cluster and everything is fine

I am having this problem and have thought about getting an escalade cluster. How do you get them programmed for mileage and things like that.

Thanks for your time
