I did a good bit of research when I decided to go all the way and drop my truck as far as I could with a relatively low static drop. After looking into lots of parts, I found a good combo that I am very happy with. However, I did not look into this part very closely. I will be completely honest. I love the part and it has really taken a lot of shimmy and unwanted flex out of the vehicle. I did not realize that installing it would leave my e-brake cable loose. For that reason, I never developed a plan. I initially used zip ties to drive it around for the first few days and I've also tried different brackets off the Silverado with limited success and I wasn't sure what to do for a more permanent solution. Here is the first bracket I tried that didn't work as well as I had hoped:
I stumbled on this idea on another forum and figured I would give it a shot. I started with about $3 worth of parts from the local Home Depot: two (2) hose clamps in 3/4"-1 3/4" D and a foot of silicone tubing with a 1" inside diameter.
I forgot to get a tubing cutter so my cuts are very crude, but here's what I came up with:
They are just two non-slip "holders" to secure the cable. I don't anticipate a lot of movement while driving but whatever I do get should be minimal.
Just thought I'd share and maybe even provide an idea or two for anyone experiencing a similar problem. If anyone has any other suggestions or thoughts, feel free to contribute.
