I don't think you are going to have any rubbing issues up front, I ran the stock 275/55/20's with a 2" McGaughys spindle on my tahoe when I first got it and had no rubbing issues and they come out to a 31.9 dia. 10.8 sec. width 5.9 sidewall height.

IMO your not going to get that staggered look you are trying to achieve by just putting a 285/45 and 305/40 tires on the same size rim. If you are truly trying to get the staggered look, you are going to have to put a 22x8.5 rim up front and 22x10 rim out back.

Then run a 285/45 tire up front and a 325/35 tire out back and then lower the truck at least with a 2/3 drop.

Hi Alex,

I'm not actually trying to get a 'staggered' look ... what I'm trying to do is put 305s in the rear and 295s in the front so I don't get any rub. So I'm trying to figure out any potential issues, if any, this would generate. If I could go 305/40/22 all around without rub I would. :waytogo:

I don't mean to go off-topic, I saw an X5 the other day and I must admit I was jealous of the OEM staggered look for an SUV. 275 up front, 315 rears.

I run 305/40/22 all the way around with no rub. As long as your offset is correct, all should be good. By the way, my rims are 22x9.5 with +30 offset. Dropped 2/3"

shouldnt have any issues in regards to steering and issues along those lines. as far as rubbing its a whole nother' ball game. I wouldn't have any idea.

Just for the sake of asking, what's wrong with the 285/45/22? It's what the manufacturer calls for and they look pretty darn good as is?

What's wrong with it is it looks like shit sitting next to some 22's on a 305. The wider stance is much more appealing looking at it side by side. 305 makes it look sooooooooo much better bottom line :Handshake:
