Last week I bought unknowingly with a heavy sludged engine. I gave myself 4 days to gather facts, and to calm down from wanting to destroy everything that the guy sold to me loves.
Welp, it was all for nothing. New motor time. Drove great for 3 weeks, now its putting off clouds of smoke at start up, and my oil is 2qt low in 700 miles. That's the way the mop flops I guess.

You can really take 1 on the chin; I wouldn't fight you. I hate that you got burned like this. I just bought an '03 Yukie and I had a panic attack every time that I drove it for about the first 10-days, anxious over what was about to break. I drained & refilled everything, didn't see anything alarming so I'm just hoping the tranny holds up for @ least 6-months. I'm going do to a drain/fill/filter on it next weekend, hopefully...saving most difficult/expensive for last. The current trans fluid appears OK but you never know what will happen on these after 100k miles. This truck has 125k so fingers crossed the tranny was serviced @ least once or driven easy most of its life.

Welp its back in the garage. The cleaning was worth a shot. It was too far gone when we picked it up. So now i have a Jasper reman engine, new trans/mptor mounts. Water pump, t stat, tensioners, belts, hoses, knock sensors, AT tires, oil pressure sensor, a few other sensors the mechanic did, steering shaft, downpipe studs, plugs, wires. New TPMS sensors, rotors/pads, fuel filter, new F/R diff fluid, T case fluid, trans filter, new AC refrigerant, stepper motors, touch screen head unit, and a new ebrake cable.

Next up is new shocks, and a few trans pan drains with new fluid.

Thanks all for the support. I took it in the ass on this one, but had to make the best of the situation. I'm pretty sure unless the tahoe is totalled, we are going to keep it forever.

Glad to see you got it back in the garage. It's been quite a journey huh?

Yes sir, i also had the shop throw on a flow master. My wallet it glad its done. All in all we didnt really loose any money. We got a big check from VW for our TDI, that was much more than we paid for the car. It also bought me a new used sport sedan. So its all good!
