just to throw my experience in the ring.. Had a "click" then also had a delay start as well. sometimes it would mess with the power to the truck long enough to reset the clock. had a 6 month old battery. Bought a new starter, same intermittent issue, new positive cable kit, same intermittent issue... cleaned the ground connections, worked good for a month then came back. Ended up buying a new ground wire kit and problem went away.. cut back the insulation on the ground wires and found the corrosion had crept almost 6" into the strands. Seems the inconsistent ground was enough to screw with it. was very weather dependent. cooler and humid days were the worst.
