Starting problem???

Ever since I purchased my 1999 Tahoe 4x4 6 months ago it's taken 1 or 2 tries to get it started. Not a big deal. But over the last few days it's taken 10 to 15 tries and sometimes it feels like its not gonna start, but it always does. I just wanted to know if anybody knows what it could be or has the same problem. Maybe it's the fuel pump going out not sure. Im just getting a feeling one day it's not gonna start for me at all.

When you first turn on the key do you hear the pump running for two seconds every time even when it will crank but not start? And also can you get a hold of a fuel pressure tester for it?

Next time you try, you could let someone else try to start it while you stand near the tailpipe. Sniff it and see if it smells like raw fuel.

I was able to diagnose my dads (mine now) when it wouldnt start, over the phone with him smelling nothing at all at the pipe (bad pump).

If you smell fuel but it wont start, it could be the fuel injection spider leaking and flooding the engine. Try holding the gas pedal to the floor while cranking....clear flood mode.

Ill bet it starts right up if it has been running in the last 10 minutes though right?

I have the opposite problem. My Kon will start if cold with no problem. If I do some running around, my Kon won't start with just the key. I have to give it some gas to get it started. Any ideas????
