Anyone know the size of my stock sway bars - '99 4dr 4x4?

I was checking out Belltech - Front 1.375 & rear 1.125

My truck is only lifted 1.5" and I have 285/70/17 and currently have poly on my sways and end links - any idea if this heavier setup would show enough benefit to warrant a $350 purchase?

I found the whole setup, brand new, shipped for $350 (front, backs, end links, poly)

It seemed like a good deal to me...my truck doesn't rock too much side to side, but it would be fun to see how much "better" I can make it then Chevy did.

any recommendation on Belltech vs Hellwig?

The only difference that I could find is the Hellwig front is 1.3125 vs Belltechs 1.375.

The bends could be different as well...but I've never seen these kits next to one another.

Any ideas?

just saw - the belltechs are powdercoated silver and hellwigs are natural...

no way am I sticking chrome sways on my '99 OBS!! <<if i did my math right, the belltechs are only 5% larger...not enough for me to add shiny parts underneath>>

Upon further examination, for OBS 4x4's, Hellwig only makes fronts with 1.125...which, if i went with their kit, would make my front sway SMALLER then what's on there.

Ok - I guess it's the Belltech kit then!

I couldn't pass up on this...

Belltech front Sway - $66 (shipped). It's such a ridiculously awesome deal, I'm hesitant they will ship it when they find out it's going to cost $$ to ship, and/or there are parts missing.

I'm not too worried about damage, unless someone ate the poly bushings or previously used these on a big rig, it's almost impossible to damage a sway bar.

Cross your fingers for me!

Just found Belltech kits with FREE shipping and the lowest prices I could find..

I have a one-time use 10% coupon with them b/c of my first order. If I decide not to order anything else in the next 30days, I'm happy to give it to someone on here.

The thicker the better.

Not necessarily...

Hellwig uses Chrome Moly, Belltech rolled steel. The tensile strength could be greater on a smaller bar depending on the metal used.

In this case, I do believe the cold rolled steel will have greater tensile strength then chrome moly. The moly allows the steel to give a little more..which could mean more sway.

I wish their were side-by-side comparos online for our rigs. Even though I ordered the Belltechs b/c of size and steel used, it could potentially adversely affect handling b/c of how much more tensile this setup is going to have vs OEM.

I'll let everyone know what I think after i put a few miles on them!!
