I have had this same issue with my 07 Tahoe. It only happens after sitting in the heat for long periods of time and mostly occurs if I use the remote start. I have told my husband who is a shop foreman for a Ford house but he has never heard of this before. He has asked the guy at the local Chevy dealership but they had told him that they had never heard of it either and would charge him to look at it if it came back with either nothing wrong or not covered under warranty. When I called today the guy told me that he wouldn't charge if they didn't find anything wrong. I am really concerned and want to be proactive with this issue but do not want to be out any money if this is a manufacturer's problem. Can anyone please help?? I would really appreciate it!

There has been plenty of threads on this issue. There has been a TSB out for about 3 years now. Software upgrade.

Here is a video I took that helped get my issue resolved at my local dealer. Hope it helps.

To everyone who is experiencing this issue,

Have you been into the dealership for this issue? If so, what did they say? Do any of you have a case with Customer Assistance? If so, what is your case number? Have any of you had your dealership look for the TSB on your vehicle as AZSCTACO has stated?

Thank you,

Elizabeth, GM Customer Service

I started a thread on this a while back and have since had the problem fixed. As AZSCTACO said there is a fix to this problem. The dealer did a computer re-program and that fixed the issue. I have had no noise on startup since the dealer did the reprogram. I was charged 1.5 hours of labor to fix it, but it worked. If there is a tsb on the issue are they supposed to fix it for free or is that only on a recall?

TSB's should be done free from what I gather.....maybe someone else can chime in.

Wow, I drove an 08 Tahoe when it was brand new and it did the same thing. It was a rental so I didnt' put much thought into it. I thought i was going to blow up lol. good to see there is a fix and hopefully the dealers make it right. Strange how the newer trucks have little quirks like this.

WTF :fca5278d:. The dealer should not charge for this. Which dealership was this?

In any case, take your business elsewhere.

Covert in Austin, TX. Been in town for a long time. Bought my Yukon from them about a month ago only to find this issue, a door actuator went bad (in the month I've owned it), and an a/c solenoid is going out (quoted me 4-6 hours labor and a couple hundred for the part). They're not being cooperative about fixing any of it. I know such is the risk of buying a used vehicle, but im hoping they come through. It's not looking good though.
