Hit the link to Crutchfield I posted in the first post. They have answers. They're quite good. You can call them if you need to. I assume you do have XM...

Got my unit from Crutchfield in the mail today. Called their tech support and still can't find the XM box to hook this up. He checked with a couple other sources and called me back after finding a location diagram of behind the dashboard and still showing it behind the glovebox area.

I'll have to mess with it on Sunday. We are heading to Mizzou in a bit for homecoming weekend

Nope, still can't find the XM unit where this plugs into.

I figured maybe it's built into the radio so I pulled the trim bezel and pulled the 12v socket panel, hvac panel, and radio (they are staggered and you have to pull out the lower ones to get the radio out). Looked at the connections on the back of the radio and none of them match this Crux harness.

There is a silver box mounted under where all thes go that has some plug harnesses facing toward the firewall, but the sticker on it didn't have anything about XM, only the Bluetooth emblem and some HEXMEID and DECMEID numbers listed on it.

I also looked back where the jack is stored and behind it towards the rear. There is a black plastic box mounted but only has GM part numbers on it and the plug harnesses don't look like they'd match.

One other place I forgot to look thats easily accessible is under the cup holders in the center console. I know the amp and sub is under there, maybe the XM module is also. I'll check that out in a bit.

EDIT: Just checked under the cupholder area of center console and NOPE!

Otherwise I'm stumped!

Here's some pics. First is behind glovebox where it should be. Second is back of radio, third and fourth pic is that Bluetooth box. 47920cc3b61fbdba6454f1a93ebabb72.jpg24392c59e2ee04815d92c2ee5a114aa6.jpg86679bf0d70599e6345eae051faf2ffa.jpg297c54f00c5634892f1485ca530c1713.jpg

I'm surprised Crutchfield isn't being more help. You do have XM right? Did you buy the truck new? Is it possible that's an aftermarket radio? Doesn't look like much from the back.

You've definitely been thorough in searching for the XM box. I don't have any more ideas except to call Crutchfield again.

Not new, but only 2nd owner. It's the factory nav radio and does have XM.

While searching the net for an answer I've seen some posts or comments on youtube stating that theirs isn't behind the glovebox but no one answered or replied, so I know there are some models that have it located elsewhere.

Mine's a 2012 Denali

This was the only info I could find about location, and it's from a 2010 Silverado 2500. Maybe it's similar. It says it's behind the glovebox. Here's the link tho.

That's where it should be and where EVERYPLACE says it's at, but it's not.

My first pic compared to the OP's (PatDTN) posted pic of behind the glovebox

The phone pairs to the stock parts for hands free calling. It stays connected there. The phone will ALSO pair to this device for streaming everything that isn't phone calls to the stereo. Bonus it's really quick to connect and start music.

I didn't realize phones could do that with two simultaneous devices until I stumbled across something recently. Now I not only have this device but ive paired my phone to the Garmin on my motorcycle for calls and paired directly to my bluetooth headset for streaming music. Oh, and the Garmin is paired to my headset as well for directions and weather alerts.
