Anyone else have a brake pedal that rattles over large bumps? Over train tracks, or large potholes, or any other abrupt change in driving surface creates a "rattle" from the brake pedal. I can visually see it moving (when the wife is driving) from left to right. I can get video if needed.

The pedal still feels plenty "firm" under my foot, even under all the pressure I can give it. I don't think anything under there is broken, but something is definitely loose. I stuck my head under the dash, and didn't see anything that looked out of place. It looked what I would consider "ok".

Anyone else have this problem and/or a fix for it?

its prob not the brake pedal.. more than likely its the intermediate steering shaft. common prob.

If he can see the pedal moving, I'm doubting it's the steering wheel. I, personally would take it to get it checked out. Brakes are fairly important.

I had this on my 01 tahoe before... there was a bushing that the pedal bolt slides through, and on the edge , there was a part that stops the left to right play.. If you get under there and wiggle the pedal left to right, you should see the void where there might be some bushing left... Its so hard to describe, but if you go to the dealer and have them pull up this area, its right where the large bolt goes through that your pedal piviots on.

Mine was so bad it came a habit for me to hold the pedal with the top of my left foot when I hit big bunmps ...

Let me know if i can't help more..

Mine does the same thing. I assumed it was a bushing of some sort. It's an irritant but it doesn't bother me enough to fix it as I don't expect it to be a major fix.

I did read about the bushing on the pedal which also eased my mind and really took my mind away from it.

I can see why it's annoying. Think you can get a video of how it moves?

Mine chirps when I take foot off brake and put it on the gas. I've wd40'd the heck out of every joint and pivot I can find down there. But no luck. So I just turn the radio up.
