Hey guys, So I'm very close to buying these subs. They are Polk Audio db1222's. (2 12" Polk Audio subs in a Polk Audio Ported Box). Does anybody know anything about these subs? I've read great reviews and I'm getting them for $100 so I think it's worth it. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Regardless the power.. for $100 id try them out.. its not like polk is an off brand.. so im sure youll def get your bucks worth.. i mean they are still $230 on amazon and its not exactly a brand new product technology.. so it sounds like a fair deal to me.

Well it looks like it will handle 500w each.. but that people are having issues anywhere over 300 for the pair.. so id shoot for a nice 6 and change mono amp.. they want 2ohms.. sooo.. you have alot of options but anything doing 600w at 2ohms will be fine.. money is just gonna help make sure itll handle low voltage spikes and not clip.. and a cleaner amp = cleaner sound = cleaner/louder bass and safer longer lasting speakers.

Well I bought them and I'm very glad I did. I hooked it up in by brothers tahoe last night to his pioneer 760watt amp and wow!! By far the best bass I've heard!! The lows are so low. No distortion at any volume. So glad I bought them!

the reason power application is important, is hate to see you spend money unwasted. But, you paid for them, and like them, so your fine. But advise is free.
Sometimes power, system design, application and preference in sound is important questions before just throwing gear in a truck.
If you had those woofers and a 2500 watt amp, I'd discourage you to buy them and sway you towards a better sub. Need a large ported woofer to meet your desires, I'd sway you again.

So knowing exacly what you have, and want, will make designing the optimal system for you, for free. :)

^^^posted for later inquiring, not woofers in OP as it's already a ported box

Give them about 150-200watts each and they will bang decently. You wont win any sound offs but they will give you some thump. I bought a pair couple years ago and had them for a week. They werent bad...i was just going through a phase of seeing what was new and what i liked...that was the summer of 5 different sets of subs lol. Opps see you alrady got them...sorry its still early for me. best bass you have heard...ok hey as long as you like them.
