Subwoofer location preference.

You could buy a sub box from a 2000-2002 Suburban. It has an 8" subwoofer. You could then replace that sub with a higher quality one.

Can I put a factory-looking sub woofer here? Is there a factory amp/woofer setup that I am missing? What is supposed to go in that hole that looks like a speaker?

The oem suburban enclosure is different. The sub location is at the bottom of the cargo area and the tahoe is higher up in the rear panel.

Not sure if this helps you, but I built my own box to house a 10" sub. It is a sealed enclosure fed with 300w RMS. I built "legs" on it so I could face the sub down. I sprayed it with a couple coats of bedliner to toughen it up and now I can pretty much load things into the cargo area without worrying about the sub or the box. BTW- SQ is excellent, I tried facing the sub every other way, but this gave the best SQ.

What box is that?? it looks like something factory. I like how I'll still be able to fit the jack and tools under the sub. Nothing too big, just enough to add to the existing system.

That is the one i asked about and it was stated it was a Thunderform, but that is not any Thunderform I have ever seen.

Oh, I'm sorry. That is the factory sub box from 2000-2002 Tahoe's. The OEM speaker was replaced with a Kicker.
