I have an '05 Yukon, and everytime I am driving down the road my sun roof makes a rattle noise that is driving me crazy!! It doesn't leak so I know it's not the glass it self. If I give it a slight hit with a closed fist it seems like the rattle is coming from the rear of it. Has anyone had this problem? What the heck is it and how do I fix it? Any help would be great.

i just heard my sun roof rattle for the first time the other day. I did like you and hit it with my fist. I haven't heard it since, but I'm not sure what was causing it. I think it's a plastic piece, not the glass

yep, im pretty sure it's that. wasnt sure what it was called. happened again today and i was holding down on that piece and the rattling stopped. when i let go, it started again. does that mean it's loose or something?

Mine has been rattling forever and finally I just stuck my hand up there and fished around until I grabbed something. It took some finesse, but I got it out. Now I have to figure out where and how it goes back. No bolt holes or anything so it is kinda puzzling. I'll get a better pic of it tonight when I get home.

Hey bro, you better put that thing back in. That's your drip/drain channel for the rear portion of the glass. Unless you like your headliner to get wet. Looks like it catches any leaking water and directs it to the drain tubes on the side. Mine got loose and would rattle like a mo fo. Easy to snap back into place.

Slide the shade all the way back to see the mounts in the rear of opening.

Place the front tabs in position, but don't lock the back tabs yet.

Pull the shade back out about a quarter then reach with your finger and push down the back of the channel to lock into place.
