Doubt it would matter Serge. It's a recommendation.

Aren't the TBSS rep 22x9? If so, Sumo has the NT420S tires and they look fine to me...

I don't know enough about tires to gage what the risk is.

I don't want these things to fail, and I don't want to stress over them potentially failing. :(

My best friend has a Denali truck and CK375's with 305/40/22's and it rides soooo smooth and looks soooo much better.

The ONLY problem with Nitto 420s is that you need to keep them rotated often. They will tend to get a tire chop if they aren't rotated often.

I know they ride really well on the winters down here Serge.
Tires should go no more that 10k before rotate, but 10k is pushing it. Since our trucks gets about 7k before oil changes according to the dic, its really a good idea to rotate every oil change.i Cross Rotate every oil change.

If your really worried about winter driving the best option is to have a second set and dedicated snow tires. I Use 17 + Blizzaks and Had no need to use 4x4. Running 17 are better for deep snow as to 22 as there is more Tire to Grab and bite into the snow.
I wont know how they handle in snow as i will be swapping out to winter wheels soon.

I love the 420. Really great on dry and just as good when its wet even in heavy rains. They channel water very well.

I was looking into Fortera when i was looking for tires. I have no experience with the Gy but after reading reviews, both tires get about middle of the road when it comes to snow

Maybe this will help. Other peoples reviews always help me when i choose tires.

Hey sumo, thanks for chiming in.

I was really mostly wondering about slapping 305s on 9" wide rims when their specs say 9.5" for the 305/45 and 10" for the 305/40 (which is what I would want).
