Sure 305/40/22s ... but which ones?

i run 285 on 9.5" and 305 on 10.5"

We were looking at gforces for the TBSS, but went with Toyo ST2s.

So I spoke to the manager at the tire shop where I get all my wheel related stuff done and he assured me that slapping 305/40s on 9" inch wide rims isn't a safety concern ... he said the manufacturer specs are stated so that the tire sits flush with the wheel. He also told me he's installed many 305/40s and 45s on 22x9 and hasn't seen an issue yet.

I feel slightly reassured by this, although admittedly, not 100%.
