RPO codes is a list of your build as it traveled down the assembly line. "Regular Production Option". By the way, the OE parts on your vehicle are as good as it gets. "Just slight upgrade" means trying to beat what has gotten you this far already. I did an entire rebuild of my suspension and steering systems. Nothing better than the OE, IMO. Good luck.
I thought I had read on here that these came with Bilsteins(?) factory and they felt they were no better options as well from the person that wrote it. So if 2 people feel stock is adequate then I am not one to go against the flow.

Just replace OEM parts with slight upgrade.

Would you extend that opinion to steering parts by Cognito or Kryptonite?

Bilstein products I can get behind. I like them.

I have no experience with them and if I am just trying to "maintain" reliability, I use OE. If I am going for a performance feel, I can see why you would use something else. Recently I upgraded my stock front and rear sway bar assembles with Hellwig and the difference was remarkable. They work great with my OE steering and suspension components and my KYB shocks. The OP said "slight upgrade" and to me, that means OE in an all new condition and the feel is the upgrade. If you are going for performance, then you gotta go with Bilstein's and Hellwig and some of the other names you list.

Just another example of why this Forum ROCKS!

I've learned SO much about my truck, since joining this Forum.

And, the folks here are GREAT, as you are finding out.
Definitely! I feel like I have nothing to contribute as far as knowledge here. But I will always be grateful.

typically those brands make lift kit's and or steering components and utilize 3rd party shocks/struts
that being said if those parts are known to outlast or outperform OEM then yes.
so if your oem tie rod ends lasted 160k and you replaced them with kyrptonite tie rod ends and they lasted more than 160k then you are ahead of the game
