so this is my 3rd american truck but I am very much a japanese car guy so bear with me...

I recently bought my 01 Tahoe LT with autoride. The truck has 125k all original 1 owner miles.

I find the suspension somewhat soft but I am used to japanese cars/suspensions. I can tell underneath that two of the autoride shocks are white (i can onyl assume original) and two are orange (maybe Monroes??)

I have no dash lights on or noises.

I am just trying to be proactive......is there anythign I should replace now before it breaks? I am stuck on the arnott auto ride replacements but I am unsure I want to spend the $800 on them unless i truly need them (read : I have 5 cars to maintain and I need to spread the wealth around equally :) )

Should I look at ball joints? tie rods? axles?

These trucks ride pretty soft out of the box. I wouldn't start worrying about your autoride parts unless your compressor starts to run almost all the time or you hear your shocks leaking.

Definitely check your ball joints and bearings for excess play, but if you don't find any, don't worry. These trucks last a long time in OE form so relatively minor maintenance is required to keep them running.
