So I got around to replacing the old Delco (?) front shocks with the Bilsteins, resulting in much less feedback when going over small bumps.
I also adjusted the angle of the rear Helwig sway bar so that it was just past parallel to the ground. This made a big difference with the shudder.
Wanted to close the loop on this one.
