thanks everyone, glad you think it looks as good as I do. I am very happy with the result so far, and think it looks good enough to NOT have to purchase a $200-$400 Esky gauge cluster. Very happy. Pretty awesome look for less the nothing compared to Esky/SS/ or any USSpeedo overlay or cluster. Just need to do something with the needles now. Like the orange, but doesn't really go with the overall theme. Not sure about blue since it's indiglo, but will figure something out. Not done yet, more to come. Again, thanks everyone for appreciate the custom work I did.
" Eagle not fan of mesh.
think it would look righteous if you would spray the bezel argent silver or similar. "
Not a fan of mesh???? ok, everyone has there own opinion, n appreciate your honesty. It's not overwhelming as you can see from pic once installed over gauge face. Just wanted something different there to offset the white face. I like the overall look though. Not sure about silver, just cause it might blend with the trim pieces and mesh. Was thinking about doing something though, but need a color or something to offset the white face, silver mesh and silver trim pieces. Silver cover may just blend too much, but get your idea.
I am probably gonna do something with the needles, maybe red or something along with the needle middles like the Esky or SS face comes with. It's not totally done yet, just gotta figure something out.
As far as info on how I did this.
The gauge face is a BEM Performance indiglo gauge face. Got it off Ebay for $20 shipped.
The mesh came from the hobby store. It's just really thin silver/aluminum, anti rust mesh made for projects with very small holes.
The trim is aluminum also from the hobby store. I had to bend each piece individually to make fit exactly the way I wanted. Then same thin aluminum bent around the full outside to connect the other pieces together. Was "fairly" simple and easy. The actuall hardest part was getting the plexi glass/plastic cover off the front. Pain in the ass!!!!! Bending the aluminum was fairly easy, just alittle time consuming to make each one fit perfectly and curve exactly to and around each gauge. Mesh was super easy just cut to fit and attached to backside. Kinda like newer gauge clusters with silver uptop, to add contrast. Since not much going on up there and on message center, was just perfect for my. Still very easily visible to all signals and messages.
