Unplug it or remove the fuse that powers that box. If the noise stops that's where the chirp is coming from.
I’ve had it unplugged for a couple of days now and the car still chirps. This is the only aftermarket item on this car so I believe it must be a chirp for something malfunctioning or maybe a ground wire making something mess up.

The chirp definitely happens in relation to me pressing on the brakes sometimes so maybe it’s the brake booster messing up?

Let me know your guys ideas!

Spray wd40 on the brake pedal joints.

Spray wd40 on the brake pedal joints.

A month later and sadly the WD40 did not fix this sound

[Update] I put new front shocks in the Tahoe because they were leaking and in my mind I was hoping this would help fix this chirp issue because maybe there is an alert system that tells you when your shocks are going bad but nope.

I found a forum with multiple people explaining the exact problem my car has maybe this forum will help someone solve this mystery?

I’m just trying to put out as much information I can find on this issue so that it can be resolved for not only just me but the multiple other people that are having this issue. Anything helps!

I may have missed it but did you remove the trim panels to have a closer look? That sound is definitely electronic. If it was from the brake pedal or shocks it wouldn’t be the same pitch and cadence each time.

The other forum also confirmed that bc that many trucks wouldn’t have the exact same problem.

When I was truck shopping a few dealers tried to charge for an aftermarket tracking/antitheft device. I didn’t see it in person and maybe it was just this dealer but I thought I’d throw it out there

Like Wes I’m leaning toward the brake controller. It’s possible that if it’s aftermarket the installer used a different power source. Again, not likely but possible.

I think what might help is pictures. However you can do it post some of your under dash area. Also please confirm it’s not coming from your dash or door speakers.

Is it OnStar? My Cadillac plays an OnStar message, very quietly, when I first enter the Cadillac. Your might be alerting to the fact it can't find some connection or some other error. Also, have you had a code reader on it? It is possible something could be malfunctioning without tripping the Check Engine light.

The sound is definitely not coming from the door speakers. I can’t get an exact location on where the chirp is coming from because it usually comes on when driving.

For the under the dash photos I tried to keep the brake pedal visible as a reference point. Maybe someone can compare there wire setups to mine to see if something extra was added.

How could I find out if it is OnStar? This could be totally possible. Maybe the onstar antenna is tripping up and making a chirp? The only thing is sometimes it chirps when letting off the brakes, so does onstar have some tracking or monitoring system on something related with the braking system? This could explain why it chirps randomly and sometimes when letting off the brakes.

I believe our On*Star system is 2G or older...it might be talking but no one is listening...

Good luck with your Tahoe...

You can always press the OnStar button to see if someone answers. Since we’re tossing darts and hoping we hit something, you unplugged the brake controller. Can you remove it?
