weird, could be a regional thing, I know around here though most of the chevys end up in the premium yards in sacramento so the regular junkyard could be skewed that way.
It’s interesting, down here in SoCal my local yards, at least the main one in The high desert that I usually go to, is starting to stock the wrecked GMT800s almost all the time now, and now a lot more 2003 and up trucks. Before there used to only be a handful of the 800s and they were always pre 2003 models. Now there’s always a quite a few to choose from. Which makes me happy when I need small parts that I don’t want to pay a fortune for haha. Weird how even in the same state the regional selections of brands are different in the junkyards.

ya the tow truck drivers around here know that the yards in rancho cordova will pay more so everything in probably 50-100 miles of Sacramento ends up there, so the local yard by me hardly gets any

My .02 is buy the GM. 2 years in a row on a trip to Florida, we rented a Suburban one year and Expedition the following year (both 2015-2016 models IIRC). Both my wife and I thought the Suburban rode better, had a better and more user friendly dash, and was just an all around nicer vehicle. The Expedition felt cheap, and the EcoBoost motor wasn't anything to write home about. We did drive them both for a week and put about 500 miles on, so it certainly wasn't an involved test but that was our impression. I will be shopping for a CPO Yukon XL when my Ford truck sells.

The 2018 Expedition is entirely different than a pre 18 and is what we are comparing. The older version isn't even close enough to compare with 15+ Yukon/tahoe/burb.

Did not realize the OP was talking about the '18 Expeditions. Obviously with a redesign there will be all new features and a brand new truck.

Yeah, and I totally agree with you when referring to the pre 18 ford.

It’s an engine v6 boosting all that power to move around 5000 pound or more vehicle. How they do it two turbos which break and double the cost. It better a bigger engine with way more power and it move it with less effort. Any gm is still better . And after that recall and so many accident some state police department are removing the explorer from there department due to officers falling asleep for carbon monoxide entering the cabin as they drove . I’d never trust a ford again .
