It's not up to me to monitor if it is an infraction. That is for the mediators. I am just a former tech/service manager and if asked for help we need certain things. It only makes sense that the year, make, model, engine and trans are needed "every time" a question is asked or put it in the signature because we that try to help will always look there if the info is not provided in the question. I did get the comedy/minor sarcasm because I did say it was a "good dig." Sometimes the typed comedy/sarcasm loses a bit in the translation because of just being typed instead of in person. I would have picked it up better as a comedy/sarcasm if I would have answered back with a response to your ask for help and then you did a thank you back adding the part about the color. That would have been hilarious!
Now that I have vented and don't feel so butt hurt myself I will try to answer and help you. Hopefully everyone on here reads this post and the word gets passed to give all that info instead of having to ask/demand it.
IMO the noise you are hearing is the injection system. They can be noisy sometimes. Should still be under warranty so take to the dealer and have them listen and advise and make sure you get a documentation of the visit for future warranty concerns. Always always always get documentation of "every" visit to the dealer. Now what will really set me off is if you have already taken it to the dealer for this and you did not share that info in your original post. Man, that would be the icing on the cake right there, by God!
As a former service manager, nothing drove me more nuts, besides the other info I asked for, than if a customer does not tell me their concerns and what may have been done or looked at and they present only part of that or it is not in chronological order. Details man, details! In order.
You get my sarcasm there?! Good day!
By the way, there is a guy on here that asked for help about 4 codes on his 96 Tahoe. He said the codes were exhaust related! Exhaust related? He wanted to know about running and idle and hard start problems. He got the codes for us and one was for MAF sensor, the other was for an oxygen sensor and another was for a misfire on #5 cylinder. We didn't even get to the 4th code. $ exhaust codes? C'mon man! That is why I get frustrated.
