Honestly I found out when my truck started to pull to the left. I turned the wheels and saw my tires were worn on the inside. I jacked the truck up and tugged the wheels and there was a lot of play. I inspected the suspension and the upper control arm bearings were toast.

But $800 seems pretty high. I paid $300 for the parts and installed them myself like in 2 hrs.

were your parts OEM parts or aftermarket? Plus anytime you pay for a shop to do the work they'll usually charge a premium for the labor. ...and some shops tend to stick it to the customer too....

OEM parts, 211 a piece plus 300 for labor and 80 for the alignment. I asked about the labor since it only took them 1.5 hours to do and he said they go by some book value. he gave me a break on some of the labor, so it was a bit less. Honestly the only way I found out that I needed new ones was he showed me the tires. The inside tread was worn all to shit, choppy and uneven. I didn't notice the ride. Although the truck does seem to ride better with everything fixed.

Mine pulled to the left and the insides WERE worn... that's why I went to get it re-aligned/balanced/rotated. Doing all of those things fixed my issues though. Hmm.. i might need to inspect this before I get my new tires.
