Just thought I would post this up in case anyone has had this issue before and can help out.
The old lady's 04 Hoe started "sputtering" as she called it. I drove it to confirm it wasn't a figment of her imagination and there is definitely an issue. While accelerating from a stop sometimes the whole truck surges. Same thing if I'm on the freeway. No engine codes, no drivetrain codes, all fluids good.
Hooked up a friend's Modis scanner to it and the only thing we found out of the ordinary is that when the truck is surging the "TCC Slip Speed RPM" is jumping up to around 700 - 1K. When it isn't surging the same measurement is in the single digits.
Obviously the torque converter clutch is letting power slip when it isn't supposed to. I'm starting the research on the issue here/now. Let me know if you guys have come across this issue.
