What does it do once you get into the menus? On my '04, when it's connected to the OBD port, the light flashes while I'm past that menu -- can't recall if it flashes AT the menu you show, but it does for sure after that. It also clicks when I am changing menus and selecting menu items. Mine also does NOT "show" that the CANdi module is connected.

Of course, I don't use it unless I need a few more feet of cable to reach.
It was only on for literally a brief second--then that was it. I disconnected and reconnected a few times and it never came back on.

You went past the POST screen? And had it all connected to the OBD port?

Mine doesn't light up if it's not connected to the truck, even if the Tech 2 is AC powered. You don't really need it for your van, either, do you?

@swathdiver said I don't really need it for what I want to do. So I guess not, would still be nice for it to work tho.
I had the Tech2 powered through the cigarette lighter and the Candi module was plugged into the obd.

It doesn't need to be connected any external power unless you are doing something that requires you to start the vehicle while in a diagnostic, in which case being connected to the cigarette port will cause it to still reboot anyway. if you need aux power it should be with a 12v dc adapter plugged into ac power.

Yeah, don't do that, just use the OBDII port and the light should come on, I think, even for your GMT800. Know anyone with a GMT900 you can try it out on?

There are self-tests for the Tech-2 and CanDi module that you can run on the kitchen table, do those to make sure everything is working as it should and then you can put the CanDi away until you need it.

I hate when I was doing tests and the Tech2 would reboot. Good tip on the ac pwr.

I had the candi module plugged into the obd and the light didn't come on.
What kind of self tests can I do? I didn't know about that.
