Thats what I needed to know. Can you explain why the "GM TIS2000 USBKEY free get" was the choice?
It was my best guess for trying to decipher their Chinese to English interpretation.
The 1st option is "No need GM TIS2000 or Saab TIS2000" which I interpreted to mean... "No I don't need any Software".
The 2nd option is "Saab TIS2000 USBKEY free get" which I interpreted as...
"Send me the Saab Software".
And finally option 3 was " GM TIS2000 USBKEY free get" which I assumed meant...
"Send me the GM Software".
Hopefully the "Chenglish" is strong with me and I chose wisely.
The TIS2000 software requires an "authentication" key in order for it to work. When the dealerships used this program the authorization key came from GM, I guess. So you need the USB Key or dongle to give the software the authorization to work.
This only applies to updating or reflashing modules from my understanding. The Tech2 will function on it's own without the software. That is just for programming. And now TIS2000 is basically obsolete because of TDS which requires a subscription, again, only for programming.
