Going to try and go look at it this weekend. Also looking at a 97 GMC K2500 Extended Cab with a 454.
Went and looked at the suburban. Think it’s a non-starter. Interior that wasn’t in the posted pictures was in pretty rough shape. Wife screamed when a mouse crawled out on top of the throttle body. Cracked windshield.

A little more than I was hoping to get into.

The search continues.

Made the right decision. You guys will find the right one. It's always been my opinion that it's cheaper to repair a faulty motor/trans/rear rather then destroyed interior or body. That's just me tho.

IMO, a good move. Working with the son is a big plus but you also want to try and start out with something that is going to end up discouraging him as well when you really dig in and find even more and bigger problems.
