They're about an inch shorter which is why you have to use the shock extensions. Part # on the stock rear HDs are BE5-E380-H0.

Ok, I just read over this and this is the problem I am having. My wife's truck (2wd Yukon XL) is lowered 3-5 with 305/40/22s. It rides like crap, according to Tony I have the HD rear coils so I am going to get new coils but what shocks would make this truck ride super smooth? I LOVE lowered trucks (obviously 6-8 wasn't low enough on my dually) but my wife isn't happy and I hate driving the truck because there is 0 compression in the rear and the front is very stiff. It has the DJM (Toxic I guess) shocks now.....please help because the truck will look stupid stock height and I think that will be it's direction if I can't make it ride better.

These are the mods that i did to finally get the ride riding smooth

Suspension Mods:
3/4 Ton Chevy Stock Torsion Keys in Front 1" to 3" Lower
AIR LIFT 1000 Series Rear Air Spring Helper Bag Kit #60769
Belltech Street Performance Rear Shocks
Belltech Street Performance Front Shocks
DJM 5" Rear Coil Springs
Z71 Front Bump Stops
DJM Rear 3/4" Urethane Rear Bump Stops
DJM Free Travel Mod
Eibach Front & Rear Sway Bars
McGaughy's 2" Drop Spindles
KYB Steering Stabilizers shock

The Most improvement overall i gotta say out of everything was the DJM free Travel Mode done and The Aftermarket Keys that made night/day difference for me

well lets see if I can hit everyones points

its between bilsteins and street performance belltechs right now
max you love your bilsteins and I have heard great reviews so I almost want to right out of the gate start with bilsteins then later down the road upgrade the front shocks to bilsteins as well instead of buying the belltechs and then switching, ya feel me?

IIRC I am right about at 32 1/2 as well, I don't care to measure the back because its not done yet but the front is done might even lift the drivers side a little more because I sliced the shit out of my tire all the way around without knowing it

ride quality for me..
back is belltech progressive springs, shock extenders, stock shocks, bump stops taken out but the bump stop bracket is still in and it rides cool, not bouncy not stiff but it could be better

front when I loosened stock keys on stock shocks it was stiff because it was bottoming out to much and loosening stock keys isn't always the best idea
phase 2 I installed drop shocks (belltech drop 2 shocks) and sliced one notch off the bump stops, still stock keys all the way loose and it rode like a dream, seemed to just take the bumps with ease, curbs felt nice
phase 3 I installed the lowering keys and have them almost all the way loose and its right about at stock again because it is smashing the shit out of the bump stops right now

I'd say buy some belltech shocks and some shock extenders and you'll notice a significant difference also as stated above bump stops/bump stop bracket makes a HUGE difference

before I took out my bump stops in the back I would bottom out on WOT never realized I was until I took them out

Ok, today at lunch I looked at it. The shock extenders are on and the free travel mod has been done. Tony called and said I have the blue DJM coils and they are the correct ones. So what shocks should I buy and what coils should I try? Or will better shocks smooth it out? Right now I have 5" DJM rear coils.

Ok, I have some questions about this. Right now I have 3" DJM lower control arms on my Yukon, will I need keys if I don't want to be any lower? With the 3" control arms I have alot of adjustment left on the torsion keys but would adding some from a 3/4 ton help soften the ride any? How much did the Air Lift 1000 help with the ride? I understand it keeps from bottoming out but doesn't it soften the ride? How much did the front bumpstops help as well? Would replacing all the shocks with Bilsteins be good enough or should I do what is listed above or just purchase this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ART-ARR22100/ How much of a difference did the Eibach sway bars make and any reason to get them over any other brand? What about aftermarket trailing arms, are they needed on these trucks? I know I am asking alot of questions but I realized I don't really know anything about these trucks and the "kit" I got from DJM isn't as well engineered as I thought.

I dont think adding some keys is going to make a difference. What front shocks are you running? I had the stock shocks becase when i bought the kit off styin trukcs ( before i knew tony was a djm vendor), they said that the stock shocks work fine, and they dont. you have to run drop shocks in the front. Did you trim the front bump stop at all? You could be bottoming out if you diddnt. As far as the rear goes, mine rides stiff, but not bouncy. Its more solid then anything. I am running djm drop shocks all the way around, but have been thinking about trying out some bilstiens with shock extenders for the rear. Just to try and get the ride a little better. Oh yea, i am running the same djm 3/5 kit

I too am running the DJM shocks all the way around. The rear of mine is very stiff in fact harsh so I want to do something to smooth it out. Even if that means getting the bag kit for the back from Ride Tech and running Bilsteins up front.

Did you do the sway bar end links on it with the djm ones and actually relocate them? When i did mine, i diddnt read the directions and just put it in. I diddnt relocate the sway bar mounts like they said the the sway bar was hitting the panhard bar. Check this, it rode horrible
