I guess after the 500 miles I can drain the royal purple and then start running castrol 5w30 synthetic with wix extended performance filter

I don't recommend the zpak for heavy trucks or SUV. Just replace with borg heavy duty frictions and while you're in there, replace the accumulator pistons with the sonnax pinless, and do the wide band on 2nd gear.
The issue with the zpak on the heavy trucks is the fact that you're losing steel thickness to get more frictions in that pack. Thinner steels means less heat absorbing and therefore faster warping. I like the borg heavy duty frictions over raybestos heavy duty because they soak up the fluid better (my own personal testing). Also, gm uses borg frictions from the factory.

I'm not sure what local shops charge to do those things but the parts are really not that expensive. I imagine you're not inclined to do the work yourself? I can send you a really good video that goes over tear down and assembly. You have to buy some specialty tools that would probably eat up any savings from diy
