If you're able to get the plug out, it's about 3.5 quarts of fluid swap.
most transmissions hold 10-15qt 3.5qt is a waste . i'm not saying do a power flush but drain the radiator of fluid as well

You have most certainly extended the life of your trans. You are lucky your Drain Plug even came off mine did not. The Plugs on these Pans are sealed from the factory to prevent leakage.
I had a trans guy get my plug loose but said it was terrible to get loose. Crazy.

There is high likely the gasket will leak over any drain plug. Ummm...doesn't GM realize oil drain plugs are no issue so why the trans plug issue???

Never ever could rationalize the plug issue.

How many quarts does a 00-06 SUV 4L60 hold? Do you know? I will continue on my 'wasteful' ways as it has served me well. The proof is in the pudding, err....mileage. ;)

Mine has not leaked one drop from the trans pan drain plug. YMMV....

I personally think a trans pan drain plug is a great improvement and understand it's usefulness.

Yeah mine is fine too.

GM should stop being concerned about a $1bolt and more about engine leaks...

A dry 4L60E with a new 12" converter will hold between 12-13 quarts of fluid, on average. Certain things will change this figure. If you add an auxillary cooler..

where did you get the transmission information only holds 3.5qt?

I keep a log on fuelly 22.4 mpg is my Average combined.. over 14,000 miles logged yes it has it's ups and downs but the average factor is 22.4mpg yeah it dropped from 23.5 as i have been doing mostly city driving since jan..

Don't forget a 2ML70 is just a 4L60E at the end of the day
don't be mad it has a 5th and 6th gear on it [EVT] at 40-45 mph the engine is barely spinning at 1,050-1,100 rpm

Gear Ratios 1st — 3.69:1 2nd — 1.70:1 3rd — 1.00:1 4th — 0.73:1 EVT #1 — Infinity to 1.70:1 EVT #2 — 1.70 to 0.50:1
