Love it! Used to happen all time when I had my Jeep and seeing 4Runners get stuck out on trails and in the sand and my Jeep Grand Cherokee would pull em out.

Several levels of awesome going on with the OP, not just because you were able to pull him out, but also because you stopped to offer help. Nice work!

I always offer to help, it's my main source of income in the winter months! :)

I always keep a length of tow chain in my truck too. Living out in the bush, I've pulled out tourists, kid's school bus, propane delivery truck, neighbors who may have been tipsy(or not), etc.

It's a fact of life out here.....
I'm not so sure about being a source of income though. I do it for the Karma points!

While the 6.5 TD is a good engine I would not put one in a 'hoe. Then you would have alot more issues to deal with. I just got rid on my Chevy K-2500 with the 6.5 in it. I was a strong engine but required a TON of preventive maintenance and alot of thing could go wrong, the injection pump, lift pump, oil pressure sensor, PMD, injectors, and god forbid you run it over 210* then you are in trouble!!!!! If you wanted a diesel engine for a 'hoe I would get the Duramax that would be solid!!!

Thanks for the heads up. Your not the first person to tell people to stay the hell away from the OBS 6.5 TD. I was looking at one to buy a bunch of years ago and my dad stopped me. He said it`s a biotch to start at anything colder than -20c. It would always have to be plugged in at anything under 0c. etc....since those conditions exist for 8 months of the year up here, I walked away....

Anyways, good advice!
