Ugh, just checked GM automated chat. Order has been submitted by the dealer, but has not been officially accepted by GM :(

Yes, something sounds a little fishy with your dealer. In a separate thread you said your dealer told you that "GM allowed my order to be put through.". I don't know exactly what that means but I had assumed that they had an allocation and they were planning on "spending" it on you. I don't know who came up with the term "spend" in reference to an allocation but I think it is a good description. A dealer might get an allocation but can decide to "spend" it on anyone in their waiting list, even someone behind you.

So you might ask your dealer exactly what he meant when he said "GM allowed my order to be put through.". As @BrokerThis said above, dealers can place orders anytime they want but until that have an allocation specifically for you, it can sit there forever. Maybe something on your order is constrained...but again, if that were the case why would he make that statement about your order being able to be "put through".

I gave a deposit a few months ago, but they couldn’t place an order because I wanted diesel, max tow, air ride, and LSD. That combo then triggered super cruise which according to them didn’t allow the order to be put in.

Fast forward to 10 days ago and they called to say they can put through my order for everything I wanted except floor mats and for me to review the GM workbench order.

I assume I’m at 1100 ORDER PLACED AT DEALERSHIP / PRELIMINARY ORDER ACCEPTED. Are we saying at this point, the dealer then has to use their allocation which they may or may not choose to do?

The dealer will need an allocation for all those options along with the trim level, then they can use the allocation to place your order with GM. They may not have an allocation for Denali, or they may not have an allocation for duramax. Everything has to line up perfectly and not be on constraint, and not have anyone ahead of you. It's possible they didn't have an allocation for the engine, so they used their Denali allocation for another customer that wanted the V8.

I think you need to have an honest conversation with your dealer and find out exactly what's going on. Only he really knows the answer. But yes, until he has an allocation with everything that you are looking for and spends it on you, your order will sit at 1100. Good luck!

Had a Denali with 3.0 on order at two different dealerships since early February without sniffing an allocation. Was told for the week of the 12th-18th there were 7 allocations given across the country for similar build. Anyone thinking things maybe getting better take notice.

Boo…gues my chances of getting my Denali 3.0 with max tow, air ride and 2nd row bench being possible at the mom and pop NC dealer is slim to zero. Oh well, definitely not paying Hendricks ~$2k for worthless dealer added crap.

I found the exact unit I had ordered about 2 months ago at a dealer. MSRP, but by the time they add all their mandatory paint, sear, window protection crap it was about 4000 in extra crap.

I joined the queue. At first I was going to buy a Sienna but after waiting 6 months and only moving 1 slot on the allocation list, I bailed.

I want what everyone seems to want Diesel, Air Suspension Denali or High Country

I added my name to 4 dealer wait lists 2 Chevy, 2 GMC

Thanks everyone for their posts and advice. I never would have tried multiple dealers without reading it here first.

One question: are people having better luck ordering with the Smaller Packages (Premium Package for example) or the Larger Packages (High Country Deluxe // Denali Reserve)?

Part of me was thinking the larger package would get chip priority because of the profit margin, but the other was thinking the added complexity of multiple chips would mean smaller packages would naturally come out ahead.
