Is there a difference in throttle bodies between the 4.8 and 6.0? If so, how so? Looked at the 6.0 I'm getting and it's missing the Tb, which wouldn't be bad if I could use the one from my 4.8. I've heard the upper intakes are the same between motors, so I'd assume tb's too. Also, are the accessories and brackets all the same? Tensioner, are the flywheels the same? If not, I'm using the same trans anyway. Thx in advance.

I looked on rockauto and for the 02 Yukon's, they list the same part for the 4.8 and 6.0 throttle bodies. Hope that helps.

Yeah, thx Red Rocket. Worse case I'll just swap entire intake. Haven't really looked into the fuel return setup, etc. I've been in a rush to get this thing and I still have to borrow my friend's truck and everything else that's involved. Motor is an 05 and mine is an 03. I also forgot to check the numbers on the block of the 6.0, just to make sure it really is a 6.0.

All the part numbers for the 4.8-5.3 and 6.0 are the same. The only thing in question is fly wheel. But you having a 03 and the engine an 05 I think the flywheel isn't a problem. My 5.3 flywheel was the same as the 6.0. And the 6.0 is a 02 and my taho an 05.
I used all the 5.3 accessories and intake off the 5.3 for the 6.0. I stripped the 6.0 to the block and heads. I still have everything for back up or who ever needs them. If you need something let me know.
You pay shipping and it's yours. The 6.0 intake is dbc. And mine was dbw. So my intake may work for you and it's complete.

Thx for the very generous offer. I think I'll be OK. Just like you, I may just take everything off the 4.8 and put onto the 6.0, but I wanted to make sure it would work. 6.0 has 111,000 on it, but the one valve cover gasket was sticking out from between the head and valve cover, which seems a little suspicious to me. But I felt around inside the valve cover, from the oil fill and it felt clean. Hopefully everything is good. I wasn't sure about the flywheel bolting up to the 6.0, but I don't see why it wouldn't. Did you have to deal with broken exhaust bolts? I was only able to really look at the driver side and there's one broken bolt. Who knows what the passenger side looks like, couldn't squeeze my ass in there to look. Did you put a new water pump in and replace the rear main seal? I've been thinking about that. I'm really excited and dreading this at the same time.

Yes I havd 4 broken bolts. I used a mig welder and did small tacks to build it up. Let it cool for a few seconds and the came right out. I did do a new water pump but didn't do the rear main. I did the pan gasket cause it was leaking and I did the $3 oring on the oil pick up tube that dries up and cracks and causes low oil pressure which blows the motor. Other than that $3 part the motor is dam near bulletproof.

The R&R or the motor can be done in one day. It's very easy and quick. It's the prep work that takes the time. As like you it took me a long time to gather parts to get it in

I never heard about the o ring in the pick up tube. My plan is to do a cam, nothing crazy, I read somewhere you can put a stock LS3 cam in there and get some extra ponies on the cheap. Also wanna do some long tubes. After that, I think I'd be done. Hopefully! Lol

I read about the oring on this forum. I wish I remember who told me. But it was another member and he took out the bottom end because it starved for oil. Other guys have had noisy lifters and low oil pressure.
I really wanted to do a cam but I rebuilt my tranny and changed that at the same time. And I wanted to do it when the weather was warm out , so I ran out of time and money at that point. Still would like to do headers. Changing from a 5.3 to the 6.0 it such a big difference I am just happy to have it.

I can't wait to get this started. I hope it all works out, I'm pretty excited about it. Have you noticed big improvements in gas mileage?
